Update 4: The Religious-Political Connection

Amid cheering crowds, Pope Francis made his way to the White House lawn today where he was greeted by President Obama, who called him “Holy Father” and praised his “profound moral example.”

Speaking in English, the pontiff spoke of climate change, immigration, and caring for those on the margins of society. He also emphasized the right to religious liberty, speaking of it as “one of America’s most precious possessions.” He stated that, “American Catholics are committed to building a society which is truly tolerant and inclusive, to safeguarding the rights of individuals and communities, and to rejecting every form of unjust discrimination. With countless other people of good will, they are likewise concerned that efforts to build a just and wisely ordered society respect their deepest concerns and their right to religious liberty."

Do these statements align with the prophetic statements of Scripture about how end-time powers will function? The book of Revelation warns that before Christ returns there will be a political-religious power that will unite with another world power to “make war with the saints and to overcome them” (Revelation 13:7). In the name of protecting the planet, religious freedoms will be sacrificed.

Who is this power that the world marvels at? Who is the leader who is given authority? Is prophecy being fulfilled before our eyes? We cannot risk being deceived. Now is the time to be clear about the final events of earth’s history.
